Tarlac City, Tarlac – it is definitely the start of something new for DILG Tarlac as it inaugurated its new building in San Roque, Tarlac City on July 26, 2018, after almost a year of construction.

Rev. Christopher Lozano officiated the holy mass and blessing of the new building. A ribbon-cutting ceremony came afterward followed by the unveiling of the building marker led by Governor Susan Yap, DILG Regional Director Julie Daquioag, and DILG Provincial Director Belina Herman.
PD Herman overflowed with gratitude as she thanked the DILG Central Office for the funding it provided, Governor Susan Yap for the augmentation of funds and the usufruct agreement she entered with, and all those who made its construction possible.
"I hope this milestone will inspire us more to serve our clients better," she said.
Governor Susan Yap congratulated all the men and women behind the building's construction which, according to her, was patterned with the structural design of the Tarlac Provincial Capitol.
She also expressed her appreciation for the City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) for their hard work to continually guide the local chief executives towards achieving good local governance in their own backyard.
"Tayo po ay isang pamilya dito sa Tarlac (we are family here in Tarlac)... No matter what, the essence of governance is that we serve and do the reforms and institutions the people need... we are just stewards of the position we hold," Yap said.
Regional Director Julie Daquioag said, while the provincial government thanks DILG Tarlac for the constant guidance it gives to local governments, it is actually DILG Tarlac that is truly blessed for having them as partners.
She then shared the current undertakings of the Department especially on the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and the hectic schedule it involves.
"SGLG is more than just the seal itself, it is more on how we serve our people and promote their welfare," she added.
Also in attendance were Municipal Mayors Estelita Aquino of Moncada, Eloy Eclar of Gerona, Concepcion Zarate of Pura, Betty Lacbayan of Anao, Elma Macadamia of San Clemente, and Nora Modomo of Santa Ignacia.
Members and representatives of the DILG family were also invited such as PNP Provincial Director Ritchie Medardo Posadas, PDEA Agent Marie-Fe Manto, and Hermogenes Palomar of the BFP.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment was held in 2017 after the usufruct agreement was granted by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and funds were augmented by the provincial government to supplement the budget provided by the DILG Central Office.
DILG Tarlac's new feat sparks the beginning of a new chapter towards the continuous improvement of the quality of services for Tarlaquenos.
