ANGELES CITY - One hundred thirty-seven (137) local government units (LGUs) underwent the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Data Clean Up administered by DILG R3 on June 20-22, 2017 at Hotel America, Angeles City to ensure the reliability and quality of data in their respective data captured form (DCF) and to upload the same which reflects the result of the SGLG assessment.

The activity also aimed to clarify issues pertaining to questionable indicators; to check on the completeness of the DCF; and to encode data in the system.

In her opening remarks, DILG Assistant Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose expressed her gratitude to the SGLG provincial focal persons, assessment teams and partner Civil Society Organizations for their support and commitment during the assessment. Likewise, she emphasized that it is important to focus on the quality of the data rather than its quantity.

During the course of the three-day activity, 100% of LGUs' SGLG data were encoded and uploaded to Local Government Performance Management System (LGPMS).
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) symbolizes integrity and good performance through continuing governance reform and sustained local development. It is a progressive assessment system adopted by the Department to give distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas.
In 2016, DILG R3 awarded the Seal to thirty-seven (37) LGUs. With the commitment of Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag, DILG R3 aims a 20% increase in the number of SGLG passers.
