Pampanga – In line with the mandate to safeguard, conserve and protect natural resources and the environment, the Inspection, Inventory, and Monitoring Team (IIMT) of the Local Government Units (LGUs), through the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 3 (DILG-R3), gathered on May 24, 2016 at the City of San Fernando, Pampanga for a dialogue regarding the implementation of the projects pertaining to the Manila Bay Clean Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Project (MBCURPP).
The activity is a collaborative effort of the Manila Bay Technical Working Group of Region 3 composed of the 13 Mandamus Agencies in partnership with the Office of the Environmental Ombudsman and the Supreme Court – Manila Bay Advisory Council (SC-MBAC).
During the dialogue, DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan encouraged the participants to act collectively on the implementation of the project in order to attain its objectives and goals. She further added that each member of the team has a significant role in achieving the success of the project that's why all stakeholders must cooperate and participate.
In the activity, the IIMTs underwent through a series of workshops which aimed to help them identify the issues and concerns as well as the strategies and steps to address these for the effective implementation of the Manila Bay Project. The result of the workshop will then be included on the transition report of the Department which will be presented to the next administration.
