The Regional Technical Working Group of DILG-ROIII in coordination with Provincial Directors facilitated the conduct of Disaster Preparedness Dialogue as one of the major thrust of the agency’s Listo Movement. The said undertaking was held on May 15, 2015 at the Oxford Hotel, Clarkfield, Angeles City and attended by representatives from the Local Government Units, Civil Society Organizations, Private Sector, Local Research Institutes and media personnel.
The program commenced with an AVP of Operation Listo Teaser and Overview of the One (1) Day Activity. The highlights are the presentation of Disaster Preparedness Manuals of LGUs and Operation Listo, Overview of Roll-out Strategy and Rationale of Preparedness Dialogue Action Planning which established common understanding on early and critical preparedness manuals and flowcharts (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie) among the participants for them to conduct analysis, plans, coordination and communication relative to the Disaster Risk Reduction Management.
Afterwards, action planning was done by which all the participants were divided into their provincial groupings and organized their respective LGU Disaster Preparedness Action Plans according to the seven (7) major areas of concern on DRRM that sought to address the gaps and gear up effective measures and interventions that would strengthen the commitment, network and partnerships in DRRM among the participants and other sectors of the society.
The whole activity was wrapped up with a Commitment Ceremony which signified full support of all the participants to the Operation Listo’s advocacy towards creating disaster-resilient communities through “Tamang Paghahanda, Tamang Aksyon.”
