CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – In order to expedite the completion of Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) projects in Central Luzon, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 3 (DILG R3) initiated a Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team (RPRAT) Special Meeting last May 12, 2015.
Regional Director Florida M. Dijan explained the updated operating instructions for the RPRAT. She emphasized the need to devise an action plan to achieve 80% completion of BUB projects for F.Y. 2014, and 50 % completion of F.Y. 2015 projects by September this year.
RD Dijan also encouraged the atmosphere of teamwork amongst National Government Agencies, Local Government Units and Civil Society Organizations to fulfill their obligations and to bolster the capacity to render efficient and effective technical assistance for the improvement of public service delivery.
Furthermore, the discussion areas looked into the need to respond to the challenges in implementing BUB projects such as formation of infrastructure and livelihood clusters to assist the LGUs, guidance to provincial governments, streamlining of required documents for faster process, and other post-implementation concerns.
After the CL-RPRAT Special Meeting, the DILG Regional Management had a follow-up discussion to present the status of all of the projects supervised by the Department. DILG R3 Personnel and Provincial Directors joined the said activity to expound the issues encountered in the previous BUB project implementation.
