In an effort to protect its personnel from cybersecurity threats and risks due to the wide exposure and vulnerability to different online and digital platforms, the DILG Region 3, through its Regional Information and Communications Technology Unit (RICTU), conducted a Hybrid Orientation on Cybersecurity Awareness last June 14 at the DILG Region 3 Conference Room, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Participated by the regional, field officers and employees, the activity aimed to increase the level of awareness of DILG personnel on the importance of Cybersecurity. Specifically, the participants, through the said activity, are expected to build strong digital habits in mitigating threats and attacks in the cyberspace to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical information within the organization.

Mr. John Raphael Pangilinan, Security Operations Center Analyst and Computer Engineer of the Nexus Technologies, Inc., served as the resource speaker to the said activity. Among the topics covered were the following: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Government and Private Organization Breaches, Cyber Threats, Recognizing and Examining Phishing Emails, Best Practices on Cybersecurity as well as discussing the DILG Region 3 Experience on Cybersecurity threats and attacks.
