The Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija underwent the assessment for the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) last June 4 held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

Representing Governor Aurelio M. Umali, Provincial Planning and Development Officer (PPDO) Engr. Dennis C. Agtay welcomed the Regional Assessment Team (RAT). Said team was composed of DILG-MED Chief LGOO VII Lerrie Hernandez, Finance and Administrative Division Chief Maria Resa Pangilinan, SGLG Assistant Regional Focal Person LGOO V Fatima Lalu, and CSO Representative Anna Liza Nacion from the Don Honororio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU).

The assessment was actively participated by different department heads and functionaries of the Provincial Government. Through document reviews, interviews, and onsite validations, the provincial government underwent an assessment under the following governance areas: financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, health compliance, sustainable education, business-friendliness, safety and peace and order, environmental management, tourism, culture and the arts, and youth development.

During the exit conference, the RAT presented the initial results of the assessment and commended the Provincial Government for its consistent performance in the SGLG and at the same time encouraged them to strive for better results, as they improve in the said assessment. The activity was concluded with closing remarks from Provincial Administrator Atty. Alejandro R. Abesamis.
