The DILG-AC pre-assessed Barangay-Based Institutions' (BBIs) performance on February 21-22 at the LNB-AC Chapter Conference Room to prepare barangay officials for the 2023 BBI functionality audits.

"Isinagawa natin itong aktibidad na ito para matulungan na maitaas ang functionality ng BBIs ng inyong mga barangay," said OIC-City Director Yvette R. Cosio to the participants. "Ito na rin ay paghahanda para sa Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays, at masigurado na maitaas ang antas ng panunungkulan."

To assist the barangay officials in the preparation of documentary requirements for the functionality audits, the DILG-AC presented the indicators and means of verification for the assessment of the performance of Barangay Development Council (BDC), Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC), Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and Lupong Tagapamayapa.

Facilitated by the DILG-AC team, the barangay representatives gauged the current functionality level of their BBIs as well as the required documents that they still need to prepare.

The DILG annually conducts BBI performance assessments of BBIs to evaluate the effectiveness of the barangays in implementing sectoral programs and compliance with existing laws and policies, and to revitalize and strengthen the said institutions.
