In line with the continuous efforts of the Department to capacitate the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, the DILG Pampanga conducted the Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (SICAP-BADAC), a two-day activity attended by the BADAC members of 505 barangays in the province.

Lectures crucial to the functions and responsibilities of BADACs were comprehensively discussed by resource persons from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Philippine National Police (PNP).

In her message, PD Myra Moral-Soriano laid down the various strategies of the government against illegal drugs and stressed the importance of the BADACs in effectively and successfully executing these strategies on the ground. PD Soriano also enjoined their active participation during the activity to fully understand their roles in this whole-of-nation approach to the war on drugs.

SICAP BADAC aims to empower the BADAC members and help them be focused and responsive to various anti-illegal drug efforts being implemented in their area of responsibility. The activity also served as an avenue to address the concerns about the upcoming FY 2023 BADAC Functionality Audit.
