The Provincial Government of Bataan, together with the key officials of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) and the barangay officials of the province, gathered through an online platform for the ELCAC Barangay Leveling Session on June 11, 2021.
Anchored on the President's political will and firm commitment to fully address the communist insurgency in the country, the online activity cascaded the fullest understanding of the EO 70 framework ('whole-of-nation' approach) down to the barangay level.
Barangay officials from all the 237 barangays of Bataan were gathered to be involved in the discussion of the leveling session.
Angel Reyes of the National Cadre Team discussed the Communist-Terrorist Groups (CTGs) processes and major programs.
DILG R3 LGMED Assistant Division Chief Aldwin Reyes presented the updates on EO 70 and the JRTF's efforts followed by a presentation of the Barangay Development Projects through Engr. Emerson De Jesus of LGCDD. NCIP and ICC/IPs Resiliency were likewise reported by Juna Sacpa of NCIP Bataan.
PTF-ELCAC chairperson, Governor Albert Garcia through an audio-visual presentation showcased the significant accomplishments of Bataan PTF-ELCAC per each of its clusters.
Further, OPAPP Dir. Maria Carla Munsayac-Villarta and Rufino Lopez of the National Security Council praised the efforts of the Provincial Government of Bataan and its PTF-ELCAC for their efforts to make the ELCAC activities more inclusive and felt by the community.
NTF-ELCAC also commended the barangay officials of Bataan for being engaged and participative on the topics discussed in the online activity. PIA Bataan and DILG Bataan collaborated in hosting the event.
This series of barangay leveling sessions were conducted in seven provinces of Central Luzon from June 3 to 11, 2021 to strengthen the collaboration of the PTF-ELCACs with the barangays in addressing peace and security concerns in the region.
