CITY OF MALOLOS – As a pledge for a free, safe and peaceful 2019 National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), in partnership with the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 48 Infantry Battalion, and Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), spearheaded the Unity Walk and Peace Covenant Signing held on March 22, 2019, Friday, at Barasoain Church, City of Malolos, Bulacan.

Officials from DILG, DepEd, DOH, and other government agencies, stakeholders as well as local candidates from different political parties in Bulacan, joined in the activity to call for a peaceful 2019 midterm elections. This was followed by a Holy Mass dedicated to the cost of the activity.

Atty. Elmo Duque, Asst. Regional Election Director of COMELEC Region III, and Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan Police Provincial Director, both delivered their messages expressing their hope for a free and peaceful elections. Senior Supt. Bersaluna also gave his assurance that he and his men will remain apolitical while ensuring a safe, peaceful and orderly election for the people.

Atty. Mona Ann Aldana Campos, Provincial Election Supervisor IV - Bulacan, led the integrity pledge encouraging aspiring candidates to support the conduct of a free, clean, orderly, peaceful and credible elections. This was followed by the peace covenant signing and the releasing of doves participated by local candidates led by incumbent Vice Governor Daniel Fernando and Malolos City Mayor Christian D. Natividad.
