Pursuant to the implementation of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act or Republic Act No. 10742, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) together with the National Youth Commission (NYC) and the Local Government Academy (LGA) facilitated the conduct of the nationwide mandatory training for all elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials.
The DILG- Provincial Official of Bulacan, in coordination with the Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC), Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) and
Provincial Government of Bulacan- Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), conducted six (6) days of simultaneous SK mandatory training for all five hundred sixty-nine (569) barangays of Bulacan which ran from May 16 to May 23, 2018.
The mandatory training aims to prepare the elected officials for their roles, duties and responsibilities as public servants. It involves the discussion of three modules which include the following topics: Decentralization and Local Governance, SK History and its Salient Features, Meetings and Resolutions, Planning and Budgeting, and Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Official and Employees.
Deliberate failure of SK officials to participate in the training without valid reason shall be a ground for disqualification or disciplinary actions, as provided for under RA 10742, Chapter V, Sec 27.
