Tarlac City, Tarlac – in order to suppress the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the national government through the Department of the Interior and Local Government hired 50,000 contact tracers nationwide to help immediately identify the close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 patients.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad initiated the conduct of an online training for the second and third batch of newly-hired contact tracers (CTs) on October 22-23, 2020. This is an effort to augment, prepare and capacitate CTs across the local government units of Zambales.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of the Province of Bulacan conducted a two (2) day training for the newly hired Contact Tracers that was held on October 21-22, 2020 via online platform ZOOM. It was participated in by DILG Bulacan personnel and 440 hired contact tracers on the 1st day and 423 on the 2nd day.

The Regional Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team visited Olongapo and conducted a dialogue with the City Task Force (CTF) Against COVID-19 to discuss coronavirus issues in the city and provide guidance to its local officials. Hosted by Olongapo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the dialogue took place at the SMX Olongapo Convention Center, SM Olongapo City Central in Barangay East Tapinac, Olongapo City on October 21, 2020.
